Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. bacon slices, cut up
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 (16-oz.) cans country-style baked beans
  • 1 (16-oz.) can large butter beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (16-oz.) can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup bottled hickory barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. liquid smoke

  1. In a large skillet cook and stir bacon bacon over medium-high heat just until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Crumble and set aside. In the same skillet cook and stir ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until beef is browned. Drain fat.
  2. In a large slow cooker combine bacon, beef mixture, baked beans, butter beans, kidney beans, ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and liquid smoke. Season with pepper to taste. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours. Stir to combine. Serve warm.
