- In a large saucepan over medium-high heat cook and stir beef, onion and garlic until beef is browned. Drain fat. Stir in beans, tomatoes, picante sauce, chili powder, and salt and pepper to taste; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 10 minutes or until heated through.
- Ladle chili into bowls, sprinkle with cheese, and serve.
