- Meanwhile, cut bread loaf in half horizontally. Hollow out top and bottom of bread loaf, leaving a 1/2-inch shell (reserve removed bread for another use). Spread cut sides with cream cheese; set aside.
- In a large skillet cook and stir ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain fat. Add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup water. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Transfer beef mixture to bread shell. Layer with cheese, lettuce and tomato. Cover with bread top, cut side down. Cut into wedges; serve with salsa.
