Beef and Bean Biscuit Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (16-oz.) can baked beans
  • 1 (10.75-oz.) can tomato soup
  • 5 bacon slices, crisp-cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 (4.5-oz.) pkg. refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (6 biscuits)
  • 1 cup finely shredded Cheddar (4 oz.)

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large skillet cook beef and onion over medium-high heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain fat.
  2. Add beans, soup, bacon, chili powder, paprika and garlic powder. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer mixture to a 9x9x2-inch baking pan. Arrange biscuits on top.
  3. Bake, uncovered, 10 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake 15 to 20 minutes more or until cheese is melted and biscuits are done. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
