Chef Adam’s passion for food started early — growing up, he raced mountain bikes and quickly recognized the power of food as fuel. With years of experience under his belt, including working inrestaurantsandearning his culinary degree and a bachelor’s degree in restaurant management,Adamnow serves as our Grand Rapids-based Executive Chef, designing delicious deli programs, craftingin-store recipes, helping to develop new products for our OwnBrands,and so much more! In this role, he has gained a deep understanding of how shoppers’ taste preferences vary by region and the importanceof balancing classic, well-lovedingredients withtoday’s evolving food trends. Adam shares that, through his career at SpartanNash, he has been able to make a positive differenceby always striving to find better, more thoughtful ingredients that are good for us and good for the community—whetherit’s sourcing locally or partnering with local brands. One of the most rewarding parts of his career is seeing the programs he creates come to lifeafter months of research and development. Adam also loves hearing from our shoppers,stating,“the most valuable insights come directly from our shoppers,” noting that allfeedback is meaningful and fuels his passion for creating quality dishes everyone can enjoy. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, gardening, cycling,running, and spending time with his family.
