Twice a year we hold an online Wine and Beer sale that is only available in Michigan and is pick-up at store only. I believe it is the original wine and beer offering available in an online format; the very first time Michigan saw an online offering with over 400 wine and beer items with crazy prices. It starts on 10-27-18 and ends on 11-17-18. Get what you need for your holiday gifts and for your holiday get-togethers. You can’t find better pricing in Michigan.
A gift of beer or wine is very special and very much appreciated. I work with these items all day, every day, and a gift of beer, wine, or spirits is still a wonderful thing to experience. You can access the Online Wine and Beer sale on your Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market, VG’s Grocery, and Forest Hills Food websites. Look for Wine Sale in the top navigation bar of the web site. Below are some of our beer offerings with amazing pricing.
Soft Parade from Short’s Brewing, Bellaire and Elk Rapids, Michigan. Soft Parade is one of Joe Short’s original beer items that he made. Four types of real fruit, Raspberry, Blueberry, Blackberry, and Strawberry make up the personality of this easy drinking beer. Joe refers to this beer as a beer with fruit and not a fruit beer. Joe had just made one of his first batches of this beer and was driving to Boyne City when song, “Soft Parade” came on the radio. Hence the moniker for this beer. I first tried this beer at the Villager Pub in Charlevoix and paired it with their famous ribs. A great combination of fruit with pork. This item is available in a 12pk. The online price for three weeks will be $15.59/12pk.
One of our favorite beer companies from Delaware, Dogfish Head Flesh and Blood is a great beer. An ABV of 7.5% and IBUS of 45, this beer will spark your Father’s Day celebration. This is an IPA brewed with real fruit of lemon flesh, sweet orange peel, and the juice from blood oranges. It is a very quaffable ale that is balanced with its malt. Pair with any grilled fare. You pay only $11.69 for the six pack.
Cigar City from Tampa, Florida is making a big splash. Cigar City has a very cool arrangement with our local Perrin Brewing Company. We can now get Cigar City items because of that new arrangement. We have pick up Cigar City’s best selling beer, Jai Alai. Jai Alai is an IPA with tangerine and orange peel on the nose. The flavor of orange and caramel from the malt along with six hops that are aggressively applied make this a favorite IPA. The Jai Alai is in our ad this week and had a great value attached to it. The sport of Jai Alai was once big in Florida. These games were attended by cigar smoking men, which lends to the name of this IPA. Once a popular game, Jai Alai was played on a specific-sized court and used a rubber ball that would travel up to 200 mph. Speaking of numbers, the Cigar City Jai Alai has an ABV of 7.5% and carries 70 IBUs. Your cost? $9.29 for a six pack.
Brewery Vivant is another amazing local brewery located in Grand Rapids, MI. Their new beer for us is the Hopfield IPA. This beer features Michigan hops on Vivant’s mainstay style of farmhouse beer. This beer is unfiltered and cloudy as well. A local brewery using local ingredients with the hops. The nose on this beer is floral and fruity. The palate is juicy and rustic in the perfect Vivant style. Food parings would be pizza, spicy seafood, chicken on the grill, or Gouda cheese. Brewery Vivant is proud to bring this beer to you. Online price is $8.39 for the 16z 4pk.
Local to our eastside stores is Atwater Brewing. If you get a chance, visit the Atwater in the Park brewpub in Grosse Point Park, MI. It is in a vacated church, stained glass and all. There is a huge tent outside and the food is out-of-this world delicious. I had a plate of their sausages with their Blueberry Cobbler beer, one of the best food and beer pairing I’ve experienced. Our best-selling Atwater beer is the Vanilla Java Porter. VGP for short. The style of this beer is English Porter and the color is a deep brown. Chocolate malt, coffee beans, and vanilla extract are blended with U.S. Goldings hops. A most delicious beer. You will get this for the online price of $8.39 for a 6pk. It is the best savings in the state.
And that is just skimming the top! With over 400 beer and wine items available, you are sure to find something new to love or an old favorite to share this holiday season.
